Service Description

For our first holiday art class, we will be using clay to make birds in nests. If your child celebrates Easter, they can make an adorable little chick with some Easter eggs in their nest! If your child would rather make a different type of bird, they can use their imagination to dream up their own wacky bird! In this class, children will learn a variety of clay hand building techniques such as coiling, making a pinch pot and slipping and scoring. There is also a focus on colour mixing as kids will have to use primary colours to mix together their colour palette. As if that's not exciting enough, kids will also be able to add feathers, sequins, buttons and other decorations to make their creations look AMAZING. Who doesn't love a bit of sparkle? This class is suitable for children from year 1 - 8. If you have a slightly older child who would like to attend then this is totally fine. The art will still be appropriate for them, they just need to be aware that they will be spending the day with children younger than them. If your child is 5 or 6, please ensure that they are capable of focusing on a single project for a whole day. This session will run from 9 - 3. You are welcome to drop your children off after 8:45. Please do not drop them off earlier than this. You will need to bring a hat, old clothes that can get dirty, drink bottle, morning tea and lunch.
